Rule of thumb: if a meet-up requires you signing an NDA agreement, it’s probably going to be good.

Case in point: this afternoon, the Tumblr team co-hosted a meet-up with Carine Roitfeld to chat about her upcoming CR Fashion Book release on the rooftop of The Standard East Village. CR mentioned that NYC has been so welcoming to her, and it’s not hard to imagine why. Her philosophy about fashion — that it needs an open mind, that it needs positivity, that it thrives from new faces and new talents, that models, photographers, stylists, and designers are telling a story — are exactly what makes me feel lucky to be working in this industry in this city. “People need fantasy.” I can’t wait to see what CR has in store.

Faces you may recognize besides CR et moi: Valentine & Miguel (aka NYFW twinsies) / Andre / Julia / Rachel / and David. Any day I get to see these lovely faces as well is always a good one.
